Consolidated Copper Corp (CCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sonia Bergh as the Chief Human Resources Officer for CCC and its Group of Companies, effective immediately, and Mr. Andrew Thompson as a Non-Executive Director of Ongopolo Mining Limited (OML), effective 1 January 2024.
Reporting directly to the CEO, Ms. Bergh will be responsible for managing the Human Resources function for both Corporate and Namibian Operations, bringing her wealth of experience in the full spectrum of Human Resources, Strategic and Operational Management to the Company.
Ms. Bergh holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the Rand Afrikaans University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and Social Services from the University of South Africa (UNISA), as well as further qualifications in multiple disciplines including – but not limited to – finance, risk and compliance, corporate governance and performance management.
Ms. Bergh has extensive experience working in the public and private mining sectors and CCC is confident that she will add considerable value to the Company.
Mr. Thomson’s history and vested interest (both direct and indirect) in CCC is extensive, having joined the Company as a bursar in 1980 and commencing employment as a Mine Geologist in January 1983.
During his 40+ years with the Company, he has served in various geological roles. Beyond this, he has also assumed managerial roles including GM of Central Operations for seven years, Country Manager for ten years, and GM of Weatherly Mining Namibia and OML for two years.
At the Board level, Mr. Thomson has served as an Executive Director for OML and several other Group Companies for over fourteen years. Consolidated Copper Corp believes that his extensive industry knowledge and experience will complement the current OML Board.
